Personal Diagnosis
We can, undertake a diagnosis of your personal situation and in liaison in strict confidence with your legal advisor (notaire or solicitor) propose the options open to you to select the best route (with a view to inheritance and tax planning) to acquire the property. These options might include, if the situation warrants, the establishment of a property holding company. Whatever your choice we will instruct the legal advisor to proceed accordingly and will furnish you all the necessary paperwork once translated. |
The French Conveyancing System
We will issue you our in-house guide to the conveyancing system in France that includes the principal options available to an acquirer, your obligations (at each stage of the acquisition process) and the importance of correctly-worded suspending clauses, rights of pre-emption and other potential impediments to the acquisition. However, this is only a general guide and can not replace our individual assessment of a specific property acquisition project |

Surveys & Home Information Pack
Whether you require a general homebuyers survey or an in-depth structural survey, though we are not qualified to undertake such a task, we can instruct qualified establishments to do so. We will of course translate their report ! We will also explain the significance of, and translate, the equivalent of the Home Information Pack and the Energy Performance Certificate.
Mortgages & loan funding
Should you require a supplement to your personal funding we will provide you with our in-house guide to the various types of mortgage and other housing loans. We can, on your instructions, set up meetings with local banks and accompany you and translate, as required, during the meeting. Due to our experience in this field and our close working relationship with such establishments, we have negotiated competitive rates for Baguette’s clients.
